Rain from Tropical Storm Henri Pounds Rockland

August 23, 2021 by Jeff Lewis

Rockland got mostly rain last night with some damage as the remnants of Tropical Storm Henri came past our area. As of last night, around 9:30 there were 1,174 O&R customers without power, just a handful of them in Rockland, that’s down to about 144 as of this morning. Sunday evening Clarkstown Police closed the ramps connecting Route 303 and Route 59 westbound due to flooding. Other roadways that had to be shut down yesterday due to flooding include Route 303 at Mountain View Avenue in Orangetown, Bobby Lane near Palisades Center, and Ash Street and Hudson Way also experienced some minor flooding issues in the Village of Piermont. O&R reminds you not to touch or approach any downed wires. If you lose power, you can report it by going to www.oru.com/ReportOutage or call 1-877-434-4100.
