A bill renaming a portion of a main roadway in Spring Valley for a fallen village volunteer firefighter has been signed by the governor. The bill was also backed by Rockland Assemblymen Ken Zebrowski and Mike Lawler. While the road-renaming is a good start, Lawler says he and his lawmaker colleagues would like to see the governor sign the bill that would give firefighters a ten percent property tax reduction…
The one-and-a-half mile section of Route 45 between New Hempstead Road and East Eckerson Road will be forever known as “Firefighter Jared Lloyd Memorial Highway.” New signs identifying the road will be unveiled later this year.
