A local children’s charity, The Penguin Plunge, last week gave four area families whose children have some staggering medical bills with $220,000 dollars from about a year’s worth of fundraising at a check presentation at Bailey’s Restaurant in Blauvelt. The Penguin Plunge is run by Barbara Noyes, and she says every little bit helps…
The event was the culmination of several fundraising events over the last year, including a race at Autobahn Indoor Speedway at Palisades Center in West Nyack, which you may recall was won by yours truly against such local luminaries as Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Rockland Sheriff Lou Falco, and Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus. The big event was the Penguin Plunge into the Hudson River in March, which yours truly watched from the warm, dry shores of Memorial Park in Nyack.
