Orangetown Supervisor Sees Uptick in Solicitors, Suggests Residents Sign Up for “No-Knock” Registry

October 1, 2024 by Jeff Lewis

Orangetown’s supervisor is encouraging residents to sign up for the town’s “No-Knock Registry” as some residents have noticed an uptick in offenders. Supervisor Teresa Kenny says solicitors must register in town first, and if you’re on the list, they can’t come bother you…

Supervisor Kenny says the registry covers folks looking to sell you things, such as real estate brokers or solar panel manufacturers. Naomi Streicher of Q Home Sales in New City says reputable firms such as hers won’t come knocking on your door with unsolicited offers or requests…

Kenny says politicians and religious organizations are excluded from the no-knock law.
