Orangetown Sets Public Hearings on Electric Rates and Solar Panel Installations

The town of Orangetown has set a public hearing to discuss negotiating as a town for lower electric rates, also known as “community choice aggregation.” Supervisor Chris Day says instead of O&R’s supply rates, town residents could get lower electric rates by default…

The town also set a public hearing on a proposal to regulate solar panel installations, which have become increasingly popular. Day says a streamlined process would make it easier to get related grants. Both public hearings are scheduled for October first.
