Orangetown Seeking Grant Money to Improve South Nyack Playground

July 22, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

The town of Orangetown will be looking to get some grant money to help fix up a playground in South Nyack. Supervisor Teresa Kenny says the size of the new playground at Elizabeth Place Park will depend on the amount of grant money the town gets…

The 20 year-old playground was inspected by the head of Orangetown’s Parks and Recreation department when the town took over for the village of South Nyack, which disbanded earlier this year. The equipment in the park was not safety or ADA-compliant. The proposed playground is expected to feature a poured-rubber surface that will reduce annual maintenance costs.
