Orangetown Likely to Pass Volunteer EMS-Firefighter Tax Break Bill

While a date hasn’t yet been set, the town of Orangetown is likely to opt into a new state law that gives volunteer EMS and firefighters a break on their taxes. Orangetown Supervisor Teresa Kenny told “The Morning Show” Wednesday an increase in benefits for seniors is scheduled for a public hearing first early next month, and then they’ll tackle the volunteer bill in a separate meeting…

Each municipality, including the Rockland County government, all five towns and their villages, and the school districts, can opt into the bill, which would give a tax break to volunteer firefighters and EMS workers in New York State.
