Orangeburg’s Dominican College to Launch New Public Health Informatics and Technology Program Next Semester

Next semester, students at Dominican College in Orangeburg will be able to study the growing field of Public Health Informatics and Technology, or PHIT. The multi-disciplinary field applies data science skills to solve complex health care issues and improve public health outcomes. The new Dominican College program, which begins next fall, was funded through a $1.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dominican was one of only ten higher education institutions nationwide to get this funding.
