Optimism for Better Summer in Rockland as COVID Restrictions Loosen

March 16, 2021 by helpdesk1

As COVID restrictions start to loosen, there’s optimism for a better summer this year than last. Over in Clarkstown, supervisor George Hoehmann says they’re getting ready to re-open town community and senior centers…

Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips says they’re on course to open the golf facility early next month…

And Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht expects both town pools to be open at full strength…

The state meanwhile opened three more vaccination sites, but none is in Rockland. Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker says it’s important to get more people vaccinated as soon as possible…

One caller to “The Morning Show” yesterday proved, when it comes to getting the vaccine, it takes a bit of patience AND persistence…

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost four more to COVID, the total is 905. We’ve got 35 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 1,917 active cases. Our total case count is 40,988, that’s 357 more than Monday.
