New York’s shutdown, known as “New York State on Pause,” has been extended to May 15th. In his daily coronavirus briefing yesterday, governor Andrew Cuomo said when the time is right to “un-pause” the state, it has to be done in a way that doesn’t lead to another wave of infections…
Cuomo says this will be an ongoing process over the coming weeks and he’ll be working with neighboring states and coordinating efforts with them. Meanwhile, the latest figures show total number of cases of coronavirus across the state is now just over 222-thousand and nearly 12,200 deaths. In Rockland there are almost 35-hundred cases and 319 confirmed deaths. West Haverstraw and Garnerville are now the zip codes in the county that have the greatest percentage of cases, with both hovering near 3.2 percent.
