NYS Public Service Commission Approves Suez Rate Hike

July 23, 2020 by helpdesk1

The New York State Public Service Commission has approved a 9.1% rate increase, about $4.05 per month, for Suez Rockland customers over the next four years. Suez New York’s Director of External Affairs Bill Madden says the hike won’t take effect until October…

Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci calls it unconscionable to have a rate increase at this time…

Carlucci hopes an appeal by Rockland’s supervisors, the Solid Waste Management Authority and the Sewer District #1, succeeds. Suez says the plan also includes various infrastructure improvements, such as replacing older pipes, upgrades at the Lake DeForest Water Treatment Plant in West Nyack, and improvements to existing water storage tanks, booster pumps, wells, and water supply dams.
