Reaction to the George Floyd killing in Minnesota has resulted in swift action by Albany lawmakers to make some sweeping changes to police procedures. This, in a year when law enforcement was looking for some input on, and the rollback of, criminal justice and bail reform laws that took effect January first. The governor signed a series of police reform bills earlier this week, including the Police Statistics and Transparency Act, and a bill that requires police agencies to provide medical attention to anyone in custody.
