NYS Governor: No On-Time Budget, No Raises

January 26, 2021 by helpdesk1

New York’s governor outlined his state budget proposal for the coming year earlier this month. Governor Andrew Cuomo outlined two scenarios, depending on whether Washington kicks in $15 billion in federal funding. That funding would help the state start an aggressive infrastructure program, make green economy investments, enact a rent relief program, and provide millions for homeless housing and assistance. Cuomo said he really wants the legislature to come to an agreement on time…

To raise money elsewhere, Cuomo said, he’s once again looking to marijuana to help us out. Stony Point and Orange County assemblyman Colin Schmitt says, count him out…

The governor’s budget proposal would also create a $130 million Pandemic Recovery and Restoration Program for small businesses, restaurants, and arts and entertainment industries that were hurt by COVID.
