NYS Assembly Committee to Start Issuing Subpoenas in Investigation of Governor

July 2, 2021 by helpdesk1

A New York State Assembly committee reviewing potential impeachment of the governor will begin issuing subpoenas as part of its investigation. The announcement came from Albany on Wednesday from Democratic Assemblyman Charles Lavine of Nassau County, who chairs the Judiciary Committee. Western Ramapo and Orange County Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, a Republican, says there are lots of potential witnesses and that’s why the process has been taking so long…

Both the Assembly and the Attorney General launched investigations in March, covering various allegations against the governor, including sexual harassment and his COVID book deal. The FBI and federal prosecutors are also investigating the governor and the nursing home crisis in the early stages of the pandemic.
