NYC Mulls Letting Restaurants Add up to 10% “COVID-19 Recovery Charge” to Bills

September 22, 2020 by helpdesk1

You may see the bills on your favorite city restaurants jump another 10 percent, if a bill is signed by the mayor. The City Council last week voted to allow restaurants to add a “Covid-19 recovery charge.” WRCR’s Market Analyst Ken Mahoney of Mahoney Asset Management in Chestnut Ridge says he recognizes restaurants have suffered, but they aren’t the only ones…

A spokesman for the mayor told The New York Times he plans on signing the bill.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got one in the hospital being examined, another six have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 382 [351 yesterday] active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 14,833 reported cases, 86 more than yesterday, and the Rockland Health Department says we have 675 total fatalities.
