New York City is one of the nation’s so-called “sanctuary cities” for migrants, which the mayor considers a badge of honor and pride. But now mayor Eric Adams is frantically asking the feds for help, claiming at a recent press conference that he can’t get a meeting with them and, as such, he’s “not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.” He was singing a very different tune earlier this year when he was trying to send migrants to Orangeburg and Orange County and other places upstate with little to no warning or discussion. Rockland County Executive Ed Day told “The Morning Show” Friday he’s hopeful Rockland’s temporary restraining order against the city, the result of Adams’ migrant strategy, soon becomes permanent…
Adams has said the cost of providing housing and services to newly-arrived migrants could cost more than $12 billion over the next three years. Nearly 126,000 asylum-seekers have arrived in the area since last spring. The mayors of Boston and Denver have made similar pleas to the feds for assistance.
