Six Bronx men were convicted last week of operating a crime ring that stole cars from auto dealerships, and robbed cell phone stores and ATMs in Rockland and elsewhere in the Lower Hudson Valley, the city and on Long Island. New York Attorney General Letitia James says the $3 million ring was busted after a 13-month investigation called “Operation Redline.” James says the crew was connected to more than 200 commercial burglaries in 11 downstate counties. James says they would travel to neighborhoods that contained several car dealerships and cell phone stores, often hitting up several businesses in a single night, “stealing as much merchandise and cash as they could carry out.” James said several of the defendants put pictures on social media posing with the stolen vehicles, and displaying huge sums of cash. James said all pleaded guilty to felonies and are heading to prison, though the lengths of their prison sentences were not specified.
