NY Legislature Expected to Take up Gun Reform Bills Today

January 29, 2019 by helpdesk1

The New York State Senate and Assembly are expected to consider a package of comprehensive gun reform bills today on an extended waiting period, a ban on the sale and possession of bump stocks, and other reforms. Rockland State Senator David Carlucci was joined Sunday by area advocates for gun violence prevention in New City to show their support for the bills.

Robin Brill is the co-Legislative Lead for the Rockland County group “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.” Brill says more extensive background checks are also part of the legislation…

The package has the backing of Governor Andrew Cuomo…

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports nearly 40-thousand people were killed by guns in 2017, the highest number of gun-related deaths since 1968.
