NY Gubernatorial Race Tightens as Candidates Ramp up Rhetoric on Crime Issues

As the polls tighten in New York, the governor is now turning up the focus on crime and safety. Governor Kathy Hochul and New York City mayor Eric Adams took to the subways to announce a new effort to combat crime. In a press conference Saturday, Hochul said she wants to do whatever it takes to make people feel safe again, starting with increased NYPD coverage across the subway system…

Over the weekend, the New York Post reported one poll had Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin with a slight three-tenths of a percentage point lead over Hochul, a Democrat. Zeldin has been hammering Hochul on crime issues during the campaign.
