NY Governor and Rockland Congressman Weigh in on Border Bill Crisis

February 6, 2024 by Jeff Lewis

A bi-partisan agreement on a potential solution for the border crisis appeared to be in jeopardy yesterday. House Speaker Mike Johnson called the Border Act of 2024 a “waste of time,” declaring it “dead on arrival” in the House if it passes the Senate. New York Governor Kathy Hochul yesterday urged House Republicans to join their Democratic colleagues and stand together and do what’s right for the state and the country…

Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the 17th district told “The Morning Show” last month the border crisis, as is, cannot continue…

NBC News reported the president of the National Border Patrol Council, a union that represents more than 18,000 agents, called the bill imperfect, but a step in the right direction and far better than the status quo. A procedural vote is expected in the Senate tomorrow.
