A Northvale woman has been charged with two counts of assault by auto and other charges in Ridgewood New Jersey after she allegedly rear-ended a car on Route 17 with a sedan stolen out of Suffern. DailyVoice.com says 44 year-old Mille Sauvan was in police custody at Hackensack University Medical Center. Police reportedly found a crack pipe in the stolen Lexus she crashed Saturday morning, striking a MINI Cooper near Linwood Avenue. Her passenger, 47-year-old Gustavo Melendez of Spring Valley, was taken to The Valley Hospital with head and leg injuries, and was charged with receiving stolen property. The driver of the MINI Cooper, a 79-year-old from Ho-Ho-Kus, was treated for cuts and bruises on his head. Suffern police are investigating the theft.
