Those giant “Yellow Freight” trucks that you see every day on the highways making deliveries are now a thing of the past. News 12 reports the trucking company abruptly closed down its Orange County-based operations in Maybrook. The Tennessee-based company reportedly had financial problems, but the company didn’t notify Maybrook or Orange County officials of the closure. The trucking company is one of the largest in the nation, and the shut down has reportedly led to 30,000 layoffs nationwide.
Lots of Lemons Leak After Truck Crash in Mahwah
When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. If that’s true, then there’s a whole lot of lemonade in Mahwah right now. Yesterday, Route 17 near Mountainside Avenue was a mess after a tractor-trailer crash spilled lemons all over the northbound side of the highway around ten AM. NorthJersey.com says the road remained closed much of the day. It was reportedly fully re-opened by 6:45 Wednesday evening. The driver was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
