A 23 year-old man has been arrested and charged with stealing a car from an Airmont auto repair shop last week. A 2021 Nissan was reported stolen to the Ramapo Police Department. They were able to connect that theft to another incident at the nearby Walmart just hours earlier. The NYPD arrested the unidentified suspect while he was still in possession of the stolen Nissan. Ramapo Detectives took him into custody and the vehicle was returned to its owner. The suspect faces Grand Larceny and other charges. He was arraigned and issued an Appearance Ticket pending a future court date.
Report: Israeli Flag Stolen From Ramapo Town Hall Again
The Israeli flag displayed outside Ramapo Town Hall has once again been stolen. That’s according to The Journal News. Ramapo police are reportedly reviewing video surveillance hoping to identify the suspects in this latest heist from Sunday night. Ramapo’s been displaying the flag since shortly after the October 7th attacks in Israel. Two men pleaded guilty to stealing the flag in November. 75 year-old Alter Goldberger of Monroe and 32 year-old Yehonatan Ovadia of Chestnut Ridge admitted to disorderly conduct and paid $25 each for the cost of the flag. Both men are reportedly members of an anti-Israel group, Neturei Karta, which supports dissolving the state of Israel. A 15-year-old was also charged with taking a flag from Clarkstown Town Hall that same month. His case is being handled in Family Court.
