News Briefs: Clarkstown Schools Chief Among Highest Paid in NYS, Airmont Planning Board to Meet Thursday

October 26, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

Clarkstown Central School district’s superintendent, Dr. Marc Baiocco, is among the highest paid in New York State. That’s according to a new report from the State Education Department. 13 of the 30 highest-paid superintendents in New York are from Hudson Valley school districts, most of them in Westchester. But Clarkstown’s came in on the list at number seven, with a total compensation package of nearly $424,000. Tops on the list was Central Islip at about $637,000.

The Airmont Planning Board is meeting tomorrow, and on the agenda is a project for the former hotel on Airmont Road near the exit from the New York state Thruway. Menachem Halpern of 17 North Airmont Road LLC is looking to convert the former hotel to a school building with a dormitory and add an assembly room to the side of the building. The meeting is being held tomorrow night in-person at 7pm at Airmont Village Hall.
