Veterans around the county were honored yesterday and over the weekend. At Clarkstown’s annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Street School Community Center in New City, World War Two veteran and Concentration Camp Liberator Alan Moskin of Nanuet read off some sobering statistics about veterans that are homeless or commit suicide, and urged all veterans to utilize Rockland resources if they need help…
Moskin said that of the 16 million original World War Two veterans, there are around half a million still with us today, and about 9,000 of them are here in Rockland. For more information about the BRIDGES Veterans peer-to-peer group, call 845-624-1366 or visit BridgesRC.org.
