A Rockland man convicted of operating a “multi-million dollar investment club” that turned out to be a Ponzi scheme targeting the Haitian community is heading to prison. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, says 52 year-old Ruless Pierre of Nanuet, got seven years in federal prison after he was sentenced late last week. Williams says Pierre took about $2 million from 100 or-so investors, and the money was deposited into his own bank account. Pierre was convicted of securities fraud and in May last year.
