MTA to Hold Second Public Hearing for Suburban Commuters on Congestion Pricing Plan Tonight

October 5, 2021 by Jeff Lewis

The MTA’s second public hearing on their congestion pricing plan for commuters going into Manhattan from the outer suburbs is being held tonight. Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski says suburban commuters already lack convenient public transit options, and this plan won’t help them…

Rockland County Executive Ed Day says he doesn’t see how the MTA can justify getting a massive infusion of money from the federal government, announce a 1.5 billion-dollar plan to make it easier for east-of-Hudson riders to get in to Manhattan, and still look to the western suburbs to foot the bill for upgrades and repairs…

The congestion pricing proposal seeks to take in $1 billion a year in tolls. Tonight’s hearing begins at 6pm, and you can watch it on the MTA’s YouTube channel. You can submit a comment here.
