Despite requests from a majority of the area’s county executives, the Mid-Hudson region remains on track to enter Phase Three tomorrow, but not any sooner. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and his counterparts from Orange, Putnam and Dutchess had hoped the region could open ahead of the Father’s Day weekend. Day says it’s still unclear when indoor malls like Palisades Center might be able to open again, and it makes no sense…
Phase 3 includes limited indoor dining, as well as nail salons and tattoo parlors, though there are restrictions. Bars and restaurants are limited to 50 percent capacity, each table is limited to 10 people and each table must be 6 feet away from other tables.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, the state has confirmed around 388,000 total cases and 24,725 deaths. In Rockland, the state says we’ve got 13,486 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 667 fatalities here in the county, just one more since last Thursday.
