Legislature Unveils Proposed Legislative District Maps, Sets Second Meeting

New redistricting maps were unveiled by the legislature last week, with another meeting scheduled for next month. There, they’ll discuss potentially final maps that would then be sent to the county executive for approval. In a presentation last week, map consultant Phillip Chonigman said some changes had to be made from the maps that were originally submitted due to slight changes in population in the towns of Clarkstown and Orangetown…

Rockland County Executive Ed Day says, so far, nothing is etched in stone…

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st at 7pm. Once approved, the new district lines would take effect January 1st, 2024.
