If You Want One, There’s Still Time to Get a Flu Shot from the Rockland Health Department

December 20, 2019 by helpdesk1

If you haven’t yet gotten a flu shot yet you still have time to get it. Last week, over 1,800 laboratory-confirmed influenza cases were reported to the State Department of Health, up 60 percent from the week before. There have been nearly 5,000 confirmed laboratory cases so far this season. County Executive Ed Day says Rockland has one of the highest rates of the flu in the state…

The county Health Department is offering the flu vaccine for free if you’re 65 years or older, if you have Medicare or Medicaid, or are uninsured or under-insured. It’s available on Fridays until March 27th, from 11 am to noon. You need to make an appointment. Call 845-364-2534. You can learn more at www.FLU.gov. So far this season there’s been one flu-associated pediatric death in New York State.
