House Committee Passes 9/11 VCF Bill

The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund is set to expire next year. The fund supplies first responders with healthcare, but it’s running out of money and payouts have been slashed, leaving many with large health care bills. Rockland Sheriff Lou Falco told “The Morning Show” yesterday he’s disappointed at Congress’ inaction…

Congress got an earful Tuesday from former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart. The House Judiciary Committee unanimously passed a bill that would permanently reauthorize the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund yesterday, the day after Stewart testified. The bill now goes to the House for a full vote. It’s not clear yet whether the Senate will get the chance to vote on the bill.
