Hold on to Summer: Pick up a Good (Rockland) Book

September 4, 2019 by helpdesk1

Summer isn’t quite over, you still have time to enjoy some locally-themed books. New City Library’s Head of Adult Services, Brian Jennings, says one of his top summer reads was “Gringos” by Michael Rumaker, who passed away two months ago…

Joe Barbieri is the New City Library’s local history librarian, and says one of his top picks for summer reading was written by local teens…

Another, released last month, is called “The Forgotten Hilltop” by Clarkstown North student Dylan Frawley, who you may recall helped rescue a hiker, and that served as the inspiration for his book. For these and other great titles, check out your local library. Both Brian and Joe were guests on August’s episode of Crossroads of Rockland History with Clare Sheridan. If you missed it, online, we have a link to it right here.
