Governor Threatens Localities with High COVID Numbers and Low Compliance Enforcement

The governor’s concerned about the lack of testing in schools in the various COVID hotspots that have popped up recently around the state, including Rockland. Governor Andrew Cuomo said yesterday the state will close schools that do not do testing immediately. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht says he’s reached out to the schools to reinforce social distancing protocols…

The governor threatened to shut down all business activity in hot spots where local governments don’t enforce compliance.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, the death toll continues to climb slowly. The Rockland Health Department says we have 678 total fatalities, adding another over the weekend. We’ve got 17 in the hospital confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 1,072 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 15,849 reported cases, 213 more than Friday.
