Governor Signs “Red Flag” Law

February 26, 2019 by helpdesk1

The governor signed the “Red Flag” law yesterday at a ceremony in the city. Under the new law, school officials, family members and police can more easily keep a person from buying a gun if a judge agrees the person is an extreme risk to do something harmful. Governor Andrew Cuomo said in many of the recent school shootings, teachers said they had seen signs that, with something like the “Red Flag” law in place, could have helped them stop tragedy before it happened…

Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski told “The Morning Show” the bill is likely something that people across-the-board can agree is a step in the right direction…

There are several other bills waiting for the governor’s signature that would ban bump stocks, establish regulations for gun buyback programs and lengthen the amount of time for a background check.
