Governor Extends “NY ON PAUSE” for Two Weeks

March 30, 2020 by helpdesk1

There are now 2,209 reported cases of coronavirus in Rockland County and 8 deaths attributed to it, in the state that number is hovering near one-thousand. The governor has extended by two weeks the state’s “ON PAUSE” directive including school districts, village elections, malls, restaurants and bars, fitness centers, casinos, barber shops, and everything else non-essential. In his Sunday press update, Governor Andrew Cuomo said the state will re-evaluate this again after another two-weeks…

Cuomo says New York State’s Wadsworth Lab has developed a new, less intrusive test for COVID-19. It uses a saliva sample and a self-administered short nasal swab. This new test, which could be in use later this week, will help conserve personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, reduce their potential exposure to the virus and allow the state to continue to test as many people as possible. If you’re up to donating blood, the Martin Luther King Center in Spring Valley is hosting a blood drive today from noon to 5pm.
