Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is reportedly coming to Rockland with his hand out for a ritzy, private fundraising event at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern tonight (Thursday), but whether it’ll happen as advertised is up in the air. The cost to dine with the presidential candidate is said to be a whopping $6,600 per person. But late yesterday media reports indicated security was pulled from the event and that it had been cancelled. Another suggested it might still be on, but DeSantis may not appear in-person, but none of that’s been confirmed. Protestors were expected to be outside the Crowne Plaza while DeSantis was there. We’ve reached out to the Rockland County Republican Party for clarification, but have not yet heard back.
