Election Day, of course, is tomorrow, and governor Kathy Hochul has yet to sign a bill the many Rocklanders are eager to see her sign. It’s legislation that has support across party lines here in Rockland to offer tax breaks to volunteer firefighters and EMS. The hope was that she’d sign it before Election Day, but State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick says now it looks like she’s waiting until afterwards…
Rockland Assemblyman Mike Lawler says it’s embarrassing that Hochul hasn’t signed the bill already…
Once the bill is signed it would need to be adopted by local municipalities before any property tax breaks could be given.
