Funeral arrangements have been set for a supervisor with the Rockland D-A’s Drug Task Force who passed away over the weekend. In a statement, the D-A’s office said Detective Xavier Fernandez always wanted to “get the bad guys” when he grew up, so he joined the NYPD seven years ago. He hooked up with the Drug Task Force a year ago and worked with federal, state and local law enforcement to fight drugs and related violence in all Rockland’s communities. A wake is being held Sunday and Monday November 6th & 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, and the Funeral Mass is at 10am on Tuesday, November 8th at St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw. The cause of death was not released. Fernandez was 31 years old.
