A former Spring Valley building inspector connected to 2021’s fatal fire at an adult care facility in the village is expected to be in court today on misdemeanor charges related to the facility’s operation. News 12 reported Tuesday night that three felony charges against Raymond Canario were dismissed by the judge overseeing the case. He was accused of filing false information to the state about inspections done at the Evergreen Court Home. The fire there two years ago killed a resident and Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd. Rockland Sheriff Lou Falco told “The Morning Show” yesterday that he isn’t sure where the prosecutors’ case might have gone wrong…
Charges against former Spring Valley building inspector and Public Works Director Wayne Ballard were dismissed last month. Two rabbis, father and son Nathaniel and Aaron Sommer, still face felony charges for starting the fire while cleaning the facility for Passover.
