Just as the Labor Day Weekend was getting underway, five lives were taken in two separate accidents on the Palisades Parkway, one involving a Piermont man. NorthJersey.com says the unidentified 49 year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Parkway in Alpine, New Jersey, heading northbound. His car was found overturned on the median near the Alpine Lookout.
Around 24 hours earlier, a crash took four lives on the Parkway in Englewood Cliffs. Police told NorthJersey.com that a shuttle van that takes people to and from a factory in Chester in Orange County to the city overturned around 1:30 Friday morning. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene. Eight others were taken to nearby hospitals with various injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released. Both crashes are under investigation.
