Five area high school students are being honored as recipients of the 2023 O’Grady-Brown Memorial Scholarship awards. That’s according to Patch.com. The recipients include Thomas Cortelli and Aidan McGrath of Pearl River High School, Nia Simone Flowers of Nanuet High School, Briana Sinnott of Nyack High School, and Montana Veit of North Rockland High School. Each recipient gets a $1,000 scholarship. The fund is in honor of Nyack police sergeant Edward O’Grady, and police officer Waverly “Chipper” Brown, who were both killed in the 1981 Brinks armored car robbery.
