Federal Lawmakers Seek Updates on Situation in Haiti

May 15, 2024 by Jeff Lewis

Federal lawmakers are looking to the Biden Administration for an update on the situation on the ground in Haiti. The Financial Times reported the Air Force has begun flying in civilian contractors and equipment into Port Au Prince with the hope of setting up an international police force. FT.com reported more than 2,500 people have been killed, injured or kidnapped this year, that’s according to the UN. More than 90,000 people in the capital have fled while 1.4 million Haitians are at risk of starvation.
