COVID Delays Security Camera Installation in Ramapo; Supervisor Hopes to Get Them up Soon

September 14, 2020 by helpdesk1

The town of Ramapo is hoping to move forward soon on grants secured for security cameras to be placed around town. The town got the grants after the machete attack last December during Hanukkah at a family holiday celebration. Supervisor Michael Specht says the COVID situation put that on the back burner…

72 year-old Josef Neumann died of his injuries three months after the attack. 39-year-old Grafton Thomas was charged but was found mentally incompetent to stand trial on federal attempted murder and hate crime charges. He was hospitalized to determine whether he can understand the charges against him and assist in his own defense. He still faces county charges stemming from the attack.
