COVID Cancels Pearl River’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade for Second Straight Year, Rockland Still Has no State Vaccination Center

March 18, 2021 by helpdesk1

For the second straight year, the annual Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Pearl River isn’t being held due to COVID. Orangetown supervisor Teresa Kenny says it’s a good bet the holiday isn’t going unobserved this weekend…

Meanwhile, ten new state-run vaccination sites are opening in New York and, you guessed it, none is in Rockland. The closest is in Middletown, with others located in the city, Long Island, Corning, Niagara Falls and New Paltz. Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski says local lawmakers at all levels, including County Executive Ed Day and Congressman Mondaire Jones, have been pushing hard to get one here…

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, no new deaths to report, the total remains at 907. We’ve got 41 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 1,986 active cases. Our total case count is 41,339, that’s 164 more than Wednesday.
