September 15, 2020 by helpdesk1

Two members of the Nyack school District staff have been confirmed with COVID-19. DailyVoice.com says the staffers are being isolated from students and staff. The district has disinfected and sanitized any school buildings they might have been in. Classes for all Nyack students began remotely on Wednesday. They plan to implement a hybrid model on September 29th.

The county has added an Active Case Map to its COVID-19 Map Dashboard. The new map will show active coronavirus cases based on zip code that have been reported to the Rockland Department of Health and will be updated three times each week.

The owner of New York Sports Club has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to losses during the COVID pandemic. The gyms will be open during the proceedings, including its two in Garnerville and West Nyack at Palisades Center.

Macy’s yesterday announced a scaled-back version of their annual Thanksgiving Day event for this year. There won’t be a parade down to Herald Square. Instead there will just be small performances near the company’s flagship store on 34th street, with balloons making their way through with no handlers, tied down to cars.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got five in the hospital being examined, another six have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 272 active cases. The state says we’ve got 14,581 reported cases, 71 more than yesterday. And the Rockland Health Department says we have 675 total fatalities.
