Congressional leaders released a massive government funding package, hoping to pass it and avoid a shutdown before Friday’s deadline. Representatives from both parties reportedly worked on a compromise package that includes cuts to the FBI, the EPA, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Funding would be increased to the DEA and includes restrictions on oil sales to China. The package must be voted on and approved by Friday to prevent a partial government shutdown.
