Thousands of ducks will be taking to the Germonds Pool in Clarkstown this Saturday to raise money for several worthy causes in our area. But fret not, they’re not real ducks, they’re rubber ducks, like the one that Sesame Street’s Ernie famously loves so much. Former United Hospice CEO Amy Stern is heading up the project and she says rubber ducks don’t usually swim on their own, so some special volunteers will help make the magic happen…

The first possibly annual “Rockland Duck Derby” is being held this Saturday morning August 5th at Germonds Pool in West Nyack at 9:30. The first three ducks to cross the finish line will win cash prizes. Third place gets $500, second gets $750 and first place gets $1000.
