Clarkstown Police earlier this month helped nab a trio suspected in a string of robberies across the tri-state area. In a press release last week, Stafford Township police said they connected the three 39-year-old Augusto Italo of The Bronx, 36-year-old Carmen Borilla Raez of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and 59-year-old Marco Rodriguez Perez of Paterson, New Jersey, to so-called “distract and grab” incidents at the Jersey Shore last summer. Police said the thefts took place at area Walmart and Costco stores, with the suspects taking wallets and purses from unsuspecting shoppers. The three were eventually captured in Clarkstown. Each was charged with various offenses including theft and burglary, with one Italo also facing a charge of Fraudulent use of a Credit Card.
