Clarkstown Mourns Loss of Rudolph Yacyshyn, Long-time Planning Board Member

The Town of Clarkstown is mourning the loss of Rudolph “Rudy” Yacyshyn, a long-time member of the Clarkstown Planning board, he died early Monday morning just two weeks shy of his 93rd birthday. Yacyshyn spent fifty-five years on the Planning Board, serving as chair and vice-chair for more than forty years. He was the founder and driving force behind the creation of the Rockland Municipal Planning Federation, which requires that all land use board members of all municipalities be trained and certified annually. A visitation is being held today from 3 to 7PM at the Higgins Funeral Service in New City. A funeral mass will be tomorrow at 10AM at St. Anthony Shrine in Nanuet.
