Challenges Mount for Seniors, Before and During COVID

Before COVID-19, seniors were experiencing increasing mental and behavioral health challenges. A new report from the United Health Foundation says between 2016 and 2019, there were increases in drug-related deaths, suicide and frequent mental stress among people 65 and older nationwide. Doctor Rhonda Randall with UnitedHealthCare says those and other trends got even worse during the pandemic…

Dr. Paul Cavaluzzi, the host of “Calling Doctor Paul” here on WRCR, says dementia is another issue that afflicts seniors, and says it’s important for them to have a healthcare proxy…
